But I think parents do their kids a huge disservice by doing this, well off or not. There's this amazing thing called independence that does wonders for the soul. And as long as you're indebted to your parents for big monetary things, you're never really free of their control.
Nope, I sure did not want my parents to have a thing to do with my life away from home. I would have felt embarrassed to admit to friends that I wasn't paying my own way, for one--it would have been like saying I was still living with my mom and dad. For another, I didn't want my parents to have any presumed right to walk in on me in my apartment--which, believe me, they would have loved to have don--or take away "my" car if they got pissed off at me for some reason, or anything else.

well, i can tell you right now that thats not the situation here
my parents do not try to control me
my car is under my name
i live with them right now
i was going to get my own place but i pretty much have the whole 2nd floor to myself
i can throw parties here whenever as long as everyone stays out of the first floor
i have a pool, a hot tub, a tennis court, a basketball court, a home theater
i have lots of space
my parents dont bother me
infact, i hardly even see them
i dont pay rent
so why move out on my own?
just to please people???
i dont care what people think
i care about how i feel
im happy, and thats ALL that matters to me
