It was 20 years ago today...DDN deluxe should perhaps be realeased next year so that the mainstream media can write about it
. What's been circulated from the live material from those DDN tours is lacking in both sound quality & performance quality in my opinion. I saw them at the Uptown Lounge in '88 (CL can update the venue) & it was a mess. A loud mess & I enjoyed it nevertheless & it was my first Sonic Youth show. Some people stand by Venlo, but honestly, my favorite DDN show is probably the Charlottesville, VA @ Traxx audience recording. Maybe the band is considering putting the 2nd Peel session on it. Outtakes of alternate takes would rule.
