I think you mean David Sanborn's show Night Music & what a fantastic rendition it is; it's literally one of the finest moments of a live band on broadcast TV ever. Why SY have never played SNL is a mystery to me.

It was 20 years ago today...DDN deluxe should perhaps be realeased next year so that the mainstream media can write about it. What's been circulated from the live material from those DDN tours is lacking in both sound quality & performance quality in my opinion. I saw them at the Uptown Lounge in '88 (CL can update the venue) & it was a mess. A loud mess & I enjoyed it nevertheless & it was my first Sonic Youth show. Some people stand by Venlo, but honestly, my favorite DDN show is probably the Charlottesville, VA @ Traxx audience recording. Maybe the band is considering putting the 2nd Peel session on it. Outtakes of alternate takes would rule.
