Bucharest is at it agin, hosting more conferences.
Over 180 representatives of the Romanian communities in Europe have gathered in Bucharest to attend a conference organized by the Department for relations with Diaspora, within the Romanian Foreign Ministry. The goal of the event is to start a direct dialogue between members of the Romanian Diaspora and the Romanian authorities. In a message to the participants, president Traian Basecu underlined that, as member of the European Union, one of Romania’s priority objectives will be to strengthen the relationship with the Romanian Diaspora. He has also stated that in a united Europe, we need powerful Romanian communities, in order to preserve Romanian identity and tradition.
I would draw your attention to the final sentence: a united Europe, we need powerful Romanian communities, in order to preserve Romanian identity and tradition. What the fuck this guy's joining the EU for is beyond me, if he wants to preserve things like culture and tradition.
