After buying a new laptop earlier this month, I've finally been able to catch up on some of the video games I've bought in the last year or so - most of that effort's been focused on Signalis, a retro-styled survival horror game made by a German duo (from what I've gathered, it's Silent Hill but with lesbians in space). The gameplay is pretty fun and it feels incredibly rewarding once you've finally found what you need for a puzzle, or to unlock another room, but my main interest was the absolutely gorgeous design of the world - everything is steeped in a haze of CRTs and mechanical dials, the propaganda posters throughout the map are very nice touches, the whole thing really excited me. I'll be thinking about it a lot.

My post made it sound much less positive than it was, I thought it was just a pretty funny story (and she laughed when I told her about it). She didn't want to commit to a relationship, but we're very close and we've gone on a couple of dates since... she's very cute, I like her a lot.
