Christ though, you realize we are all here because we just can't make it through the drudgery of life without semi-regular "slurpfests" for Sonic Youth.
It's weird to say this, since most of my life has been spent salivating over post-punk, noise, math-rock and hardcore bands, not to mention the mellowed out golden age indie groups that grew out of a cross pollination of all these brutal genres with pop and folk... But in a world without Sonic Youth, Kanye West has become the undisputed king of my musical world, forcing even such long time runners up as Spiritualized, Flaming Lips, Aphex Twin and countless others to bend over (or... Maybe just kneel) before him.
So, y'know ... Sorry... or something. But that's just the way it is. To begrudge me my slurpfests would be to discredit the purpose of SYG, and all the important work we've done here
