and this actually turned out good

the brandy is cheap but tastes better than good vodka

the pear thing is actually tasty-- it's no poire williams (that would be the way to make it right) but it has good flavor. it just sucks as a liqueur due to oversweetness but it's not essentially bad-- hence its use as a syrup instead

it didn't occur to me to muddle pears even though i had them-- but i'll plunk some pears in cheap brandy next year.

right now i'm just trying to get rid of winter stock before i switch to spring drinks.

sorta like making malasadas before lent.
