I ain't dissing the Beatles. Just saying Burt at his best makes pop just as catchy and sophisticated. For example: If you know how to count beats, figure out the timing to the chorus of "I Say a Little Prayer." Nothing "ordinary" about that. And his chords are really fucked up in a fascinating way.
And Youtube clips don't do justice to how great his best records sound--he produced his own stuff a lot--so I'm gonna go ahead and say his studio skills can easily compete with George Martin's.
