Watched Ace in the Hole last night. Excellent film. It might be Wilder's second best film (Sunset Boulevard). It tells a good story that's still relevant in today's world.
I also watched Death Wish. It has its merits but I find a lot of it quite dull. The opening 5 minutes are amazing, in my opinion. The way it's edited really caught my attention. It simply follows a couple returning from vacation to New York City, but majority of those 5 minutes don't have any dialogue, and the music/images provide these dark undertones. After that, it's a decent movie but I don't know, nothing particularly astonishing.
