sianspheric has a couple of kiss-ass net friends
First bought the cassette of Goo for $6 at Music World in Toronto, Canada in October 1997. I remember buying the tape and then driving with my brother and sister listening to it while they went to rent Halloween costumes. They both thought the music was a bit weird, definitely different than my steady diet of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots.

My first SY show was also my first proper rock concert, it was May 1998 at the Warehouse in Toronto (now called the Kool Haus). I don't remember a lot about it except for CCMC opening and being terrible, smoking a lot of weed at the show (I was 15), and there being a surprising amount of moshing for Sonic Youth. That was sort of par for the course for SY shows in those days, the fans moshed to everything. Sunday, Hoarfrost, etc. I remember being kind of annoyed they play a ton of A Thousand Leaves because I barely knew the album at the time. I later became stupid in love with ATL and now it's one of my favorite SY albums.
