Thought I'd spam the board with a new label my brother and I are in the beginnings of putting forward, with the theme of featuring local and instrumental music in a variety of formats. Download can be found on the website and a physical cassette can be purchased May 1 2011 for a reasonable price.

C-001: Simon Gadke C-20

C-20 is the the first release by Simon Gadke for Eternal City Records. Drawing on his love of enveloping sounds, early minimalist organ works, and brass delays Simon Gadke creates works of slow narrative movement and sporadically overwhelming textures.

“A Side” finds Simon exploring the possibilities of a locked guitar groove. Using a shocking arsenal of sounds (e-bowed guitar, an abundance of bowed and struck bells, trombone & euphonium, saxophones, tape manipulation, delays and even clock chimes) a basic four-bar repeating pattern is transformed into a symphony of glacial noise.

“B-Side” finds the locked groove (in this case a 4 organ post-minimalist repeating pattern) subjected to a variety of analog and digital effects creating sheets of warm buzzing sound.

Available for purchase on May 1, 2011.
