Opening riff seems to be reverse-engineered from a Thin Lizzy song (maybe "Return of the Farmer's Son"). But if you think that was thrash/no-wave, please delve a bit into 60's psychedelia. The straight line from 1967 to what you saw that night didn't pass through no wave. That struck me as sounding very authentic.
