Yeah - it's one of the interesting things with Catholic Theology; because it's so sprawling and diffuse, often questions like this come down to emphasis. Essentially, there's very little stopping a priest saying Limbus Perurorum still has dogmatic currency, and little stopping someone from side-stepping or emphasising a potential redemption for the child. The question becomes whether a child can truly know sin, and many would prefer to preserve the sanctity of the child's soul.
