Chocolate

So it begins...

I like 85% pure dark chocolate, but chocolate oranges are great too.

Norma J 12.23.2006 03:52 AM

Soy chocolate. Yum.

I love all chocolate. It goes well with nuts, but I don't like it with fruit of any kind.

jon boy 12.23.2006 08:32 AM

i used to love chocolate but dont touch the stuff nowadays.

Destroy Rock 'n' Roll 12.23.2006 08:39 AM

Dark, and only dark.

I'm one of those rare beings on Earth who isn't crazy about chocolate, so I eat on the occassion when it's dark chocolate, of course.

I read an article the other day about the Noka chocolate fraud.

Noka chocolate is made in a strip mall just outside Dallas in Plano, TX. Even though their advertising copy would have you believe differently, Noka is a choclatier rather than true chocolate maker. They simply import the 75% cacao chocolate from France from Bonnant for about 7 dollars a pound. They mold their Noka chocolates, put them in a fancy box, and sell them at boutiques, upscale department stores and the like.
What is of special note about Noka is that they sell their chocolate for over ten times as much as any other available.
For instance, Godiva costs about 33.00 a pound. Noka costs 353.00 per pound!
Fortunately for Noka, there's an ample supply of wealthy, vain and ignorant people worldwide that will buy their product at the ridiculously inflated prices.

i only really like milk or white chocolate. never been a fan of dark chocolate and especially not with mint, orange or other fruits... milk chocolate is my favourite and with hazelnut, walnut or almond it's wonderful.

Pookie 12.23.2006 10:21 AM

Interesting milk chocolate fact: cocoa butter melts at around 97f, which is human body temperature. That's why milk chocolate melts in the mouth.

Dark chocolate is only good for cooking with.

Chocolate has to be sweet and creamy and melt in the mouth. Dark chocolate doesn't melt in the mouth so readily because of the lack of cocoa butter.

Trasher02 12.23.2006 10:24 AM

All dark.

Nonsense.

I don't eat a lot of chocolate but a nice bit of dark chocolate goes down a treat once in a while.

Inhuman 12.23.2006 01:54 PM

75 or 85 dark is always my fav. But I don't think dark's only good for cooking with, I find it has a more genuine taste since most chocolate bars are made with milk. I can't stand stuff like "caramilk" or "twix" or so, I think Chocolate is much better on it's own or sometimes mixed with almonds, and candy cane shards on christmas (homemade!).

k-krack 12.23.2006 01:57 PM

Dark is the best, no questions asked. I've only stopped hating normal milk chocolate recently.

Prisstina 12.23.2006 03:29 PM

I love most chocolate, unless it has nuts. Dark and white chocolate have to be my favorites, though.
