The man could space out to a twisted groove better than anyone else...

RIP!!!

never liked The Doors until i got way too high with a friend when i was 18..... i'm remembering me sitting in a chair and having my mind blown by the keyboard solo on "Light my Fire" while my friend played DOOM on his computer.

come to think of it, we had fun hanging out on his second story patio smoking weed and listening to the Doors. watching cars drive by in slow mo in a beautiful neighborhood during summertime. he was a rich kid with hippy parents.

EDIT: didn't Ray once talk shit about the Velvet Underground?

Rattling. These classic rock dudes are gunna start dropping off like flies pretty soon. Can't imagine what it's gunna be like when Paul and Mick pack it in.

RIP Ray. The first two Doors albums are classics.

RIP. The Doors was just great, but I havenīt heard anything great after Morrison death. Those two after Morrison albums are ok, but really nothing great. An American Prayer is great, but there is again Morrison with it although he couldnīt say anything about that album anymore.

Ray produced the first 4 X records. That's pretty great

He played on a bunch of them too, he seemed like a guy who loved playing music. I just bought that Soul Kitchen split on rekkid store day.

Ray was one of the last classic rocker gods that still had a sense of humor about everything, and could remember ALL the stories. Try to ask the members of Jefferson Airplane what happened back then. those brain-dead fucks can't tell you shit!

Ray was the man.

Have you seen Grace Slick lately? It is really tragic what time does to the beauty of a woman. And alcohol.

Rob Instigator 05.21.2013 08:53 AM

and cocaine, and heroin, and rough fucking living.

EVOLghost 05.21.2013 09:04 AM

RIP fellow southsider.

evollove 05.21.2013 09:07 AM

In remembrance, I'm digging on that crazy solo in X's "World's A Mess It's in My Kiss."

RIP

i just watched this music documentary called like Regeneration or something like that and the remaining members of the doors where teamed up to make a song with skrillex and when skrillex played his stupid ass beat for the doors, ray's reaction was brilliant.

you can see it here:

you can straight to 1:20 if you don't wanna watch the whole thing but its pretty entertaining i must admit.
