Many Pitchfork verdicts are questionable (notably 0.0 for NYCGF) but hey, it's just what them guys think.

Well, you know how pitchfork's always right. Not worth your money if it's a 7.2. Go out and listen to Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, they gave it a 10, therefore one of the best albums ever put out.

Well it is basically an outtake record, you wouldn't expect it to measure up to a 'real' album. It really shouldn't be judged in the same way either. I think Pitchfork has been pretty fair

its a favourable review...read the writing not the number.

Grandaddy got 6.7 or sometihng on Fambly Cat but it had a very favourable review. I don't think any b-sides collection has ever gotten over 8.0 anyway.

Actually since listening to 'The Destroyed Room' a few times, i'm inclined to agree with your 0.0 score.

They did? Silver Jews are one awesome band, and Smith and Jones is one of my all time favorites, but American Water doesn't compare to Bright Flight or Natural Bridge

This seemed like a very even handed review. And a 7.2 is a positive rating.

pitchfork gave a Trail of Dead album 10.0 for chrissake so their opinion is automatically invalid

although I just checked out that destroyed room review and it's actually quite well considered... B+

I think it's a pretty good album myself, I just don't think it deserves a 10. I wouldn't be able to name a single album that I would give a 10; every album has a weakness somewhere IMO! It's all subjective really.
