Thanks to Tristan Ruellan's brilliant work the Sonic Youth live recording database is now online. The site provides "a listing of the existing recordings of Sonic Youth concerts. Its goal is to provide to fans and collectors a comprehensive database of all the surfaced and circulating sources for each show with additional information like the kind of recording, the equipment used, the length of the surfaced tape and more".

Very nice Moshe. Don't mean to complain, but the year buttons in blue are not readable. The rest is well organized and logical.

It is tris1979 wonderful work. He told that the site is not all done yet. I thought that you would like to see anyway.

I see this site as a companion to the Concert Chronology, Tristan's taken the time to do something I always wanted to but never had the expertise or collection to properly assemble. He's done it! I think it's a great reference point to have for SY collectors (and now that torrents make it easy for anybody to hear a wide variety of live sonic, it's nice that somebody's keeping track of all the sources and unique characteristics of each recording).

why dont we put all these recordings online as mp3 files? Thats what I though that site was going to be.

The site is quite new and far to be perfect.
I decided to create it because I think that this kind of website is very useful for all the sonic youth live recording collectors like me.
I will try to improve the website month after month when I have a bit of free time.
If anyone has correction, suggestion or any feedback about it, feel free to write me...
As Chris has written SYLRDB is just a companion of the mustang website, I have too much respect for Chris works to add the setlist in my site. SYLRDB is just info about live tapes, no setlist, no pic, no comments about concert itself....
And I will not put mp3 of the concert online; collecting show is very easy in these days with torrent, so stop asking me about that...

One thing I'm wondering, did anyone get recordings of the 08/08/06 Toronto show, or the 09/01/06 New York State Fair show? I asked for these awhile back, and didn't really get any responses. I've looked around the interwebs, and can't find anything. If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated! Those were my first SY gigs!
