why do the best people always suffer the worst?

is that my own false impression or is it because this world is designed to crush the hopes of the good and the caring?

Genteel Death 03.07.2010 12:41 PM

Tragic and personally too spooky. I was lisening to them just yesterday.

jon boy 03.07.2010 01:00 PM

thats a real shame. at least i got to see them play. rip.

floatingslowly 03.07.2010 01:03 PM

the only real "them" was "him".

Steven Drozd needs to be in everyone's personal thoughts. I can only imagine what he's going through today.

Since when do drug addict rockstars count as caring or good people?

Perhaps this cruel world was not designed so that they could acheive immortality. This is making me sad, I think i will start a career of drugs and indie rock so my songs can make this sad world better.

RanaldoNecro 03.07.2010 01:37 PM

It is sad regardless when someone dies.

But I think that that some musicians try to take on an enormus challenge that many don't even dream of.

Giving yourself on stage is not for everyone and the lows of depression can sweep someone away.

I agree with seabasket, that we have to stop glorifying drug addicts...

floatingslowly 03.07.2010 01:38 PM

where the fuck is screamingskull when I need her?

KiS2.0: eat a bag of dicks.

shallow and judgemental pricks, I am not glorifying rock stars or addictions.

I'm terribly sorry that my feelings of loss go against your neo-hipster anti-indie needs to feel like snowflakes.

was sparklehorse even "indie"? I've stopped caring about your labels long ago.

I agree, as usual, with pookie. I can't rep you or anything right now, as I am too upset that someone would take their on life full stop.

floatingslowly 03.07.2010 01:52 PM

I just got trolled. enjoy it while you can.

ps: I already took care of pookie. like a ray of logical sunshine, that pookie.

Genteel Death 03.07.2010 01:55 PM

It's barbaric beyond rational thought.

SeaBasket 03.07.2010 02:06 PM

The following year, he "died" for two minutes after ingesting a dangerous mix of Valium and antidepressants while supporting Radiohead on tour in the UK. He recovered, but the incident almost left him paralysed - after lying unconscious for 14 hours, with circulation to his legs cut off.
He suffered a heart attack when doctors tried to straighten the limbs, and he had surgery seven times to save his legs.

Come on, "supporting radiohead", what a tragedy.

Genteel Death 03.07.2010 02:19 PM

It's time to revive the ask pookie thread.

pbradley 03.07.2010 02:23 PM

So when are you guys going to cut it with the foreplay and start talking shit on the dead guy's music?

noisereductions 03.07.2010 06:23 PM
