I went to see The Who last night.

Man, it was great. They played like half of Tommy as an encore.

My Generation, too. They closed with Substitute. You didn't even notice the absence of two members with Zack Starkey on drums (Ringo Starr's son). Maaaan.

So discuss the Who, I guess.

porkmarras 07.07.2006 11:41 AM

Did they manage to explode mid-gig?

Danny Himself 07.07.2006 11:43 AM

Nah. The crowd did though- I was standing next to an old guy and he just started screaming and doing air guitar. Must've got to him.

krastian 07.07.2006 04:30 PM

Cool man.....tix pretty expensive? I wouldn't mind going if someone paid for me.....ha ha.

nomadicfollower 07.07.2006 04:43 PM

Hah, Pinball Wizard used to be my favorite song. I haven't heard it in some time.
I wouldn't mind seeing The Who if tickets weren't too expensive.

Toilet & Bowels 07.07.2006 04:54 PM

how come that book pete townsend was writing hasn't come out yet?

Savage Clone 07.07.2006 04:58 PM

I'll go see The Who when they invent time machines.

krastian 07.07.2006 06:09 PM

It's a stretch without John too....again I'd go if "some dude" paid.

jon boy 07.07.2006 06:14 PM

pete townsend managed to shrug of that peadophile thing well didnt he?

krastian 07.07.2006 06:37 PM

Ha ha....yeah good point. You had to know SOMETHING was up with all his "booty shakes" and all.

Savage Clone 07.07.2006 07:08 PM

He didn't shrug it off as easily as Billy Preston.

CHOUT 07.07.2006 07:51 PM

'Who' played bass? To replace both Keith Moon and John Entwistle is inexcusable. That was a rhythm section.

They'd probably be one of my favorite bands if their stuff was more raw like Live At Leeds.

I'd say The Who Sell Out would be their only studio album I enjoy all the way through.

h8kurdt 07.08.2006 06:25 AM

It's not the who anymore. Just like Queen aren;t queen anymore but yet thay still parade around saying they are.

About £20 a ticket I think. They were going for £50 each from sellers outside the venue on the night.

No, they didn't, sadly. They played all the other ones you said though.

CHOUT 07.08.2006 07:39 PM

Did they change the lyrics to My Generation to 'I hope I get old before I die'?

I've always wondered that.
