Anyone ever tried moonshine?

Last night a couple friends and I did some moonshining. I didn't do much since one of em' built the still his self. It went pretty quick. There was about two gallons of mash and we got a mason jar's worth of acohol. We didn't have a hydrometer so we don't know what proof we got but it was strong. It was atleast 75% though, from experience. We did however pour a shot and got it lit. A shot of this stuff burned for close to 20 minutes! I didn't dare try it because it was the first brew. It all went extremely well though.

Poteen is for fisherman and the foolhardy. I have fallen into the latter category in the past, but I really wouldn't recommend it. There's plenty of legally-available murderous spirits, and I'm not destitute enough to need moonshine just yet.

Home-brewing I've tried a few times, and it tends to produce substandard wine but passable>good ale.

I wouldn't say that it's enjoyable stuff. But it was cool that it worked. We all gave it a test taste by the drop and that was good enough. I'll probably try it anyway, for the fuck of it.

I had some bits of moonshine when I visited family in Kentucky last month. I really liked the stuff.

I actually kinda enjoyed the taste of it.

i've had moonshine from tennessee. tasted like shit, but so does mccormick vodka.
