I've always been fascinated with the taggers who mark up the LA freeway signs.

I don't care if they can only paint a giant penis.

that shit's burly.

I find stuff like that fascinating too, generally the risk involved in accessing these dangerous spots. Thats why I always respect those who were brave (or stupid) enough to risk their life to draw a cock on a train or write 'GARY JONES IS A GRASS' on a bridge.

All You See Is...

Crime In The City

I dont really have a word for how I see banksy art anymore. He's moved up in the world and it's not that it's a bad thing.. But the gallery shows and animal stuff.. it just seems really detached from all his street work?

There is a book (another , yes) about the start of the melbourne scene coming out soon, which I'd like to get. http://kingswaybook.blogspot.com/

In my town I'm surrounded by tags (more so in the last 12 months again) paste ups, and stencils mostly. There are big works around trains/lines, but just not on the same scale as the former.

combined with the reletively recent law changes that allow you to be fined around $500 for simply 'carrying' cans...

make my city somewhat of a contradiction.

:)
