reccomend me an external dvd burner
 

I want the cheapest, best one. I'm cheap as fuck!!!!!!!!! For windows xp (my computer is ME.. but this is for my mom, not me!)

buy an internal burner of your choice + an enclosure, screw it in & it's done.

i have the macally, it's good and presentable. if your moms machine doesnt have usb2 it should still work, but slower. theres a firewire version too but costs more.

Oh, the one in the second link is perfect. It doesn't mention system requirements though... I'm assuming it'll work with xp PROFESSIONAL EDITION or whatever right? :)

review says it works with usb1 so you should be safe with an older system.
