Nattura (Bjork, Thom Yorke, Brian Chippendale)

Nattura is Bjork's new stand-alone single in support of the Icelandic environment.

Brian Chippendale on drums.

(the video itself is simply a hodge-podge of previous Bjork video-clips)

I don't know if it does sound like Evanescence :D but at first listen the song's not great (EDIT for clarification: subpar for a Björk song).

Interesting line-up! I find that when there's songs where all members are popular, there's often a power struggle of impressiveness like a bunch of 14 year olds jamming and trying to take lead. Chippendale's a fantastic drummer, but it's too much with Bjorks vocals.

[Sandbag] 11.01.2008 10:00 AM

yeh, it's a good song. nothing special though.
what's thom doing?...

greedrex 11.01.2008 11:09 AM

someone had to do it:

i didn't know Chippendales could play grindcore drums.
he

Alex's Trip 11.01.2008 11:44 AM

Guy on left = scary

Alex's Trip 11.01.2008 11:46 AM

And the song sucks

Green Magnesium 11.01.2008 11:56 AM

It reminds me quite a bit of the material from the Volta album, but is not as strong as anything found on the album.

Her last three albums Vespertine---->Medulla----->Volta are all brilliant, in my opinion... with only a handful of weak tracks between the three.

I don't get why people insist her early solo stuff is so much better. Debut is almost unlistenable to me with it's continuous dance-beat.

P.S. I have no idea what Yorke contributed. I assumed he'd be singing a duet when I first read of his involvement... but nope.

[Sandbag] 11.01.2008 11:59 AM

yeh i think he's doing some backing vocals (on those 'ooohs') or whatever.

Toilet & Bowels 11.01.2008 12:38 PM

wow, it's a great song, despite having thom yorke wailing around all over the place

PAULYBEE2656 11.01.2008 01:37 PM

its ok, i thought the chippendale, yorke thing was a load of balls! a fake internet rumour....no?

I take this back^....

I spent the afternoon listening to Volta and I forgot how crappy the track 'Hope' is. 'Nattura' wins!

Volta is a great, but odd album. I love how before it came out, Bjork said it would be a return to her earlier pop material. hehe... it's almost nothing like her early work, and is definitely NOT pop music.

greedrex 11.01.2008 01:46 PM

^^ yes Thom yorke's farts were heavily processed on MAX / MSP.

[Sandbag] 11.01.2008 01:48 PM

fartin on the mic...
hahahaahaha :D
