What good thing did you do recently?

As in morally redeeming, nice, kind, gentle, etc.

I gave a dollar tip today at S'bucks for my mocha.

!@#$%! 09.17.2008 05:14 PM

how is that morally redeeming?

i bet you wanted the girl to remember you-- oh yeah you did.

but it'll take more than a buck :(

ploesj 09.17.2008 05:15 PM

i helped an old lady get off the train and gave two tourists directions to something in the city.

terriblecanyons 09.17.2008 05:15 PM

I haven't left my house in a week.
I guess that's morally redeeming.

gmku 09.17.2008 05:16 PM

No, morally redeeming is just one example of a category a good thing can fall into.

Mine falls more into just "nice." Although one could argue that I really wasn't doing them a favor. By supporting the tip system, do I support a corporate policy of underpaying employees?

On the other hand, if I didn't tip something, I'd look like an unappreciative jerk.

Being nice can be complicated.

!@#$%! 09.17.2008 05:17 PM

i slept all afternoon. that was something nice.

as for something good-- i signed up to do phone bank w/ the obama campaign this weekend. now of course i actually have to show up. but it's a start...

gmku 09.17.2008 05:18 PM

What about doing nothing? Sometimes I think the least harmful thing we can do is stay inside our abodes and "just be."

Everyneurotic 09.17.2008 05:22 PM

wanked off.

gmku 09.17.2008 05:23 PM

Every morning I do things to help my wife wake up and face the new day.

I make the coffee and pour her a cup with just the right amount of cream. I press her clothes if she needs something ironed. I work out with her during Gilad--I used to do my own routine at a different time until one morning I saw her working out and it seemed so lonely, and she tells me this has made a difference to her in keeping at it.

I also pack her lunch.

I don't do these things because she demands them but because I truly want things to be better for her.

Actually, though, I think she'd get pissed if I stopped doing any of this--especially making the coffee.

Contributed to this country economy by buying cigs. And then smoking them.

EMMAh 09.17.2008 05:24 PM

I brought the laundry in for my mom because it started to rain and I put it in the dryer.

Well, it was either that or wanking off like Don Knotts on PCP.

Hmm, maybe the wanking thing would've been better after all...

Trasher02 09.17.2008 05:46 PM

I helped out a woman at the train station, she didn't know which train she had to take. I know, I'm the modern hero.
