Sonic Narcotic

I've always kind of wondered what the members' views on drug use were. I remember reading something about a song Kim and Thurston wrote that was 'an ode to narcotics' but I've never heard it and do not remember the title.

I'm just curious. If anyone knows, please let me be informed so that I may once again sleep at night.

I know they did some amount of drugs a long time ago, cheap acid and the whole "pass it around or stick it on a pin" thing. I don't know much more than that.

In the notes for With the Lights Out, Thurston wrote something about him and Kim smoking pot with another musician.

The In the Mind of the Bourgeois Reader reference "pass it around or stick it on a pin" is how the band would smoke hash while they toured Europe. They would take the resinous hashish and stick it ona pin forma badge or something like that and heat it and inhale the fumes using a drinking glass. They could have just used a chillum or something like that. It's weird what some people will use when they want to get high. Ghetto bongs, etc.
