Could we have more respect for maher shalal hash baz please?

Is this too much to ask?I have Blues du jour on the stereo right now,the sky is blue outside and it couldn't get better.I'm totally feeling apple glazed vase on this album.

I remember downloading this and hearing for the first time. I thought it was shit. Listened again a year later, and it sounded a lot better, but its still only a 5-6/10.

i really like 'blues du jour'... i first listened to maher shalal hash baz because stephen pastel said it was his 'favourite band at the moment' ("blues du jour" is actually released in Europe on his own label, at least i think so)...

i think there was a live album that was released recently on PSF (but recorded some time ago, in the nineties, perhaps)...

I can't get into this for some reason, sucker for the Japanese though I am.
Too much naive pop action for me.
I love the name though!

Though I'm generally repulsed by bands of the 'naive pop' persuasion, I have a hard time associating Maher Shalal Hash Baz with the rest of those artists. To me stuff like Beat Happening and whatever other bands fall under that category seem really self concious in their naivete. It comes across more like a gimmick to cover up for their lack of talent. But Tori Kudo is different. He is genuine and sincere, and I think it comes through in the beauty of his music.

btw... tori kudo's wife reiko has released some great music on her own.

Yoru No Ine - Reiko Kudo. Highly recommended for fans of Blues de Jour

I LOVE this band. Seriously....I can't stop listening to Osaka Bridge.

Currently listening to L'Autre Cap.

Where can I find White Noise and/or Noise with Tori and Reiko?!
Super intrigued.

Toilet & Bowels 01.26.2013 03:13 PM

They blew me away when I saw them, their music it's quiet and gentle but also totally raw

EVOLghost 01.28.2013 09:43 AM

Can anyone recommend more GOOD soft music like this (or tenniscoats, Nagisa Ni Te, Ai Aso)??
