Bands that deserve the style that they are described with
 

Offshoot of that other thread. Which bands do you think deserve the style description that they are associated with? My brain is too lazy to think of one right now, but I have never been too convinced by the description of Sonic Youth as simple noise rock. If anything, I think of them more as a rock band than anything else.

I hate the term Desert Rock, but when it's used to describe Kyuss, I can't complain.

I've never heard them called that, but I assume it's because of the Desert Sessions.

Kyuss (and QOTSA) are always referred to as "stoner rock" around here.

earlier, I was going to make a post about Kyuss because I was listening to Blues for the Red Sun this morning, but then I decided that I should most likely continue avoiding this subforum. my bad.
