Roundhouse Reviews

A couple of Roundhouse reviews if anyone's interested. A good one from the Observer and a twat one from The Times. I must have missed them playing "Eric’s Tune"!

A landmark album certainly, but not one you would necessarily be tempted to look back on too often.

What a twat. The fact he was PAID to go to a sonic youth concert and spit out that tosser babble sickens me to my stomach.

Here's another.

The Times are a bunch of utter complete knob cheeses so what they say has no validity AT ALL.

I missed THAT?

The Usher 09.04.2007 01:34 PM

They probably didn't even go to the gigs, maybe they just listened to the album then wrote the reviews!

deadrockstar 09.04.2007 02:09 PM

the times guy left before the encores at the very least. no mention of them.

"eric's tune"?

he just sounds like he wasn't interested in the slightest - in fact he sounds more interested in bad similies. they should get a music fan to write the music reviews.

"There was something indubitably thrilling about the performance, rather like watching a volcano exploding or an avalanche of rocks tumbling down a mountain slope. And there was a palpable sense of occasion as they ended with Eliminator Jr, Gordon wailing like a cat with its tail caught in a lawnmower, over the brutal, scrubbing riff."

how can you surmise like that and then score it a 3?

the guardian one is a nice (if predictable) write up, though the guy is clearly a sonic youth fan (or at least of daydream nation) so may have written that no matter how good it was. at least he stayed for the encores!!

I thought you didn't go to friday's show..

screamingskull 09.04.2007 05:03 PM

yeah he did, remember being intimidated by him after the show?

Danny Himself 09.04.2007 05:06 PM

I was not intimidated! I thought he looked suave. But yeah, I thought he'd not attended the show, that was the impression I got.

voodooscar 09.04.2007 05:27 PM

im confused some people say they filmed all of the roundhouse shows because there was a camera at the sound booth and some said they didnt see any cameras so whats the truth ?

Washing Machine 09.04.2007 06:47 PM

I went Saturday night, I just got back from London about 2 hours ago. What a fucking great gig. Ending with Expressway To Yr Skull. Couldn't be better. I'm sure I saw Sonicl outside, but I wasnt 100%.
