that's still almost two weeks away, no?

I hope so, because I don't fly there until the 27th!

not sure what I'll do with all my time there, but I'm still holding out for free tickets to see MF Doom and Public Enemy on the 29th.

YES! Same weekend that I'm going to NYC val-holla-ing and floatingslowly! Where do I get tickets?

Damn, I would have sold you my ticket to rockthebells floatingslowly if I knew you wanted one. My friends thought it would be a good idea to tell me that we're leaving a different weekend, so I sold my ticket... then they confirmed that we're going that very weekend. But SY will cheer me up.

that's enough salt on the wound Everyneurotic.

floatingslowly 07.17.2007 01:30 PM

I appreciate that, but I'm still holding out for a free ticket.

DAMN I want to see MF Doom LIKE WOAH.

I also want to yell loud obscene things at Public Enema for cancelling the Tour of a Black Planet gig with the Sisters of Mercy (for which I had 3rd row tickets to --- back in the day).

Rage can suck it, but I'll watch if it's free.

from gothamist.com
Don't Touch that Purse on the Subway Platform!
http://www.gothamist.com/attachments...oppingcart.jpgJust as there's word that subway crime is down versus that same period last year (318 felonies versus 2005's 510), it turns out that the police are nabbing crooks by setting up shopping carts and purses on subway platforms to tempt thieves in the past few weeks. The NYPD calls it "Operation Lucky Bag," and the NY Post has an amusing picture of a folding grocery cart set up. The police love how they've been able to arrest people with extensive criminal records, but some lawyers say it's entrapment. Yeah, like, what if someone is taking the shopping cart or purse away because they are going to bring them to the station agent for the MTA Lost and Found? One police source tells the Post the operation is a way for the Transit Chief to boost his number of arrests. Aha! That, and giving out summons left and right for anything.
And the lower crime numbers for 2006? It seems that cellphone and iPod related thefts were the cause of the high numbers in 2005, so we guess that Santa gave gadgets to enough people last year.

I'm also raffling off my black BC Rich Warlock bass at the show...

I figured this board is FILLED with Motley Crue fans. Phony Beatlemania is a Clash tribute. the other two bands are metal bands.
