Worst Shakespeare Play?

I vote for Pericles. The ending is so bad it makes me laugh.

King John's a tad on the boring side.

And Debbie Does Deptford just isn't sexy. I don't care what my english teacher says.

Shakespeare in Love is alright, if a bit self-referential.

pericles rules!

i'm going to have to go with king john as well, actually.

Romeo and Juliet comes to mind, I love Shakespere but I really dont like it - Sorry i'm not being indie and just denouncing the most popular play just to look cool but I just dont get it.

Measure for Measure. Cumbersome, structurally awkward and lacking in narrative finesse.

Start looking at it from Mercutio's perspective and it becomes a better play.

Perhaps, I mean the other plays ive delved really deep into but R&J, I just got turned off on the first read. I should really read it again.

I was actually going to mention Romeo and Juliet, but I think the reason I don't much care for it is because the story has been beat into my head for so long. People who haven't the faintest idea about Shakespeare know the story--it's become a part of our collective whatever. Is this the play's fault? So, I didn't put it on my list. (I saw the light opera based on the play, and it occured to me that the story isn't really romantic at all. It denounces pure emotionalism in all it's forms.)

I've never considered Mercutio's perspecive. Now I will. Thanks for the tip.

If Shakespaere wrote Shakespeare in Love, then time travel is indeed possible. Wonder why that never made the newspapers.

Measure is a weird one, but I like some of the problems in the play. The Duke has been lax and things have gotten out of control. What to do? Turn into a total asshole, or get someone else to do it? Also, a great gag: what's-his-face is being led to jail. What's he done? "A woman."

the ideas in taming of the shrew are probably the most dated.
