Both him and Joe Meek make me smile. Temperamental music producers with the 'sound in their heads' are the way to go. From now on, everyone should have a gun pointed to their head while making music. That way you spare a few bucks on shit records.

Aparently Dee Dee Ramone said he pointed a gun at him when they were recording the Ramones album Phil Spector done , i cant remember the name of the album but i buddy would tell me in about .8 of a nanosecond.

I'm a huge Spector fan but the guy is nuts.

My favourite story is the one when he fired some bullets above John Lennon's head in a fit of rage. and Lennon reportedly remarked "If you're gonna kill me, kill me, but don't mess with me fuckin' ears...I need them!"
