Walls Have Ears

I just heard back from T. Moore about the possibility of the double live LP Walls Have Ears being re-issued:

"Yo, Cake - not altogether a bad idea!"

Let us wait and see!

would love to see a remastered version.

Really? He said that?

Hmm...

Ask him about an actual substantive reissue of Sister and Evol. Like, full-on bonus disc + b-sides/rarities/demos. Ask him about that.

Seems like an odd choice since they put out "Smart Bar" from the same era not too long ago, and the band never seemed that thrilled with "Walls Have Ears" to begin with...

That's what I thought. Quite the opposite in fact. I think I read something about Thurston saying the band's "creative control" was "undermined" by the release.

Yeah, but the double LP boot was actually put out by the band in Europe, gang! Also, it's been thirty years. Time for a remaster!!! and yes he did respond back to me with a possible affirmative.

actually the label put it out - not the band. That's why they didn't like it. They hadn't ok'd the release fully.

HOWEVER, they did include it as part of their official discography in the book Sensational Fix, so apparently they do still consider it part of their official history.

So I wouldn't be shocked either.

Quite hard to understand if they still are angry about it. What I just listened from YouTube, sound quality is really great (better than Live at Continental club and much better than live in Venlo). I think covers are also just great. The original is expensive so there is more reason to rerelease it. Even that was put out without their permission, it is part of their history, do they want it or not.
