God's smile - An inverted rainbow
 

A friend from the San Francisco area sent me this yesterday:

A citizen captured on their camera a reverse RAINBOW.
Scientists call it a Circumzenithal Arc. The headline
calls it "A sight as elusive as a Cheshire cat",
meaning it is in the shape of a smile rather than the
traditional arc that touches the earth on either end.
It was created by hexagonal shaped ice crystals that
are usually formed farther north rather than in the
Bay Area's more moderate climate. The bright rainbow
with red on bottom/blues on top smiled on the people
at around 3PM yesterday as sun went down behind some
redwoods and good for the camera fest!
