Jaga Jazzist

My Dying Bride.

Turmion Katloot.

Terrible names all. I would go so far as to say that any band with 'jazz' or 'funk' in its name really should be shot if they are formed in the last 15 years (obviously funkadelic are both exempt and utterly brilliant)

porkmarras 06.14.2006 10:36 AM

No chance of me sending you a promo video of Jaga Jazzist that has spent many a dark sojourn on shelves and floors because i couldn't even be arsed to throw it away.
Another band that these ears can't bring themselves to listen:
imitation electric piano

you should add bands with the word 'ska' on their names.

but how about funkadelic?

porkmarras 06.14.2006 10:39 AM

funkadelic rule!

Rob Instigator 06.14.2006 10:43 AM

The Skatalites rule!!!!

they are the exception

yes, they indeed rule.

Glice 06.14.2006 10:49 AM

Yes, I'm there with the ska thing. And yes, Funkadelic rule. As do the Skatalites.

I'm pretty sure you can make a case for any band with the genre/ sub-genre they belong to in their name being shite, unless they were formed back in the early 80's (at the very latest).

I'm generally not prone to listen to bands that have clever-clever,ironic names.Let me have a fag and i'll come back and think of some.

that's very true.

(forgot about the skatalites for a minute there, they were indeed great)

porkmarras 06.14.2006 11:17 AM

British sea power-Here's the name of a band that is trying to be clever to hide the very fact that they are pure and unadultered drain sewage.

porkmarras 06.14.2006 11:18 AM

And i've never even heard them.

DemonBox 06.14.2006 11:18 AM

Ska Patrol,

Erm, only one I could come up with at the moment. For the record Glice, Jaga Jazzist is great, check em out, even though they have a lame name.

porkmarras 06.14.2006 11:20 AM

They came from the stars - I don't know why but they don't sound appealing.

Absolutely not. No matter how good they are, bands must be punished for having shit names. They might be the best thing since my ass, but with a name like that they ain't gettin' no love from me.

porkmarras 06.14.2006 11:26 AM

DemonBox,that Jaga Jazzist video is yours if you want it.They might be a good band but i don't get them at all.

DemonBox 06.14.2006 11:27 AM

I like your style man, a real snob:D I can understand your way of thinking, but the matter of liking a bandname or not is highly subjective.
