You can find a Zaireeka mixdown on soulseek. But, it's not the same expirience.
I'll look for it

screamingskull 06.27.2007 02:52 PM

kool ,thanks

I have the mixdown on my external harddrive, but I don't have a fast enough connection to upload it for you. It's fantastic. My favorite is "The Train Runs Over the Camel, But is Derailed By the Nat" (or whatever it's called)

k-krack 06.27.2007 10:43 PM

Oh man, I listened to it in it's entirety at my friends house, and it is seriously one of the coolest fucking albums/concepts ever. So rad.

atsonicpark 06.27.2007 11:33 PM

unrelated and silly, but anyone ever listen to kid 17?

it's playing two copies of kid a at the same time, only 17 seconds apart from one another?

it's startling...

I did that a few times. It's amazing. I wish I could find a download of it already mixed so that I didn't have to sinc the beats myself. "Everything In Its Right Place" played like that is the coolest thing I've ever heard. If you noticed my list in the "Which is your favorite Radiohead record" thread, I put Kid 17 in there.

CHOUT 06.28.2007 01:20 AM

I bought it for my friend and some fuckin' Juggalo stole it.

I have it, love it. It's great when you get people excited about it and have a Zaireeka party.

The dogs on Big Ol' Bug always scare the living shit out of me.

here's the mix of the discs:

yeah, ambient artist locust also did this. not THE locust. locust. there was another cd to be played simultaneously with more "ambient texture".

i had planned to do this with robe.. we made this album "Glacial" and then i made a "special low frequency edition" of it, which was the entire album exactly the same but at such a low frequency that sometimes it was entirely inaudible.. but usually, it was just this low grumbling noise .. it was great, i listened to it through these huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge speakers and it made me want to vomit. no kidding. so, i planned on releasing them both at the same time to play at the same time. but i mean, the records are out there, so if you wanna buy them both and burn them both and play them both, no one's stopping you. doom drone seems like a perfect genre for this.

or what would be even better is boredoms releasing a cd like their live shows.. 4 cd's.. 3 stereos with each one just being a drum track meant to be played loudly and maybe the 4th cd is meant to be played at a low volume on headphones or something.. that'd be amazing.

as for kid 17, i had the greatest time listening to that.. i had my tv full blast with kid a playing through the ps2.. it was at my head.. then i had a huge amp playing kid a at my feet.. i was in bed.. and it was just hitting me so hard.. fuck.. i was robo tripping too. GREAT times.

Alex's Trip 06.28.2007 12:37 PM

If you have Zaireeka and any audio editing software you can make your own mix, which is what I did.

That way I had control over it, and I could pan certain things to all different spots. It was fun.

Zaireeka is really amazing.

screamingskull 06.28.2007 01:13 PM

i want to have a Zaireeka party now, but none of my friends would come.

floatingslowly 06.28.2007 01:53 PM

Zaireeka is one of their best releases ever and the boombox experiments were really a sight to see.

oh, to go back to those happy days. :(

screamingskull 06.28.2007 01:54 PM

you were there for the boom box experiments???

floatingslowly 06.28.2007 02:00 PM

hah yeah.

in fact, a few months ago I had one of the boomboxes at my house.

although all I have is a homemade mixdown of Zaireeka, I have an original STUDIO mixdown of The Big Ol' Bug that was...uh...given to me.
