Semi Final: SYG Album Cup - Evol v Sister
 

An interesting tie. Two quite similar albums, generally liked almost equally by fans of each.

If EVOL doesn't win I'm going to be very dissapointed.

although Cotton Crown almost makes up for Sister's relative lacking.

EVOL is a tad overrated in my book. The band was never better than they were on Sister.

I voted for Sister, but I like these albums a similar amount. Sister gets it because of 'Schizo' (rather predictably). The winner of this will get whipped by the winner of the other semi!!!!

This is a tough one. I'm going to go with EVOL, but I don't care if it wins, because they're both good.

I voted for EVOL because I didn't vote for it last time and now there's a tie COOL.

I really hope EVOL wins, I love that album so much.

Sister's great and all. But a couple of parts on that album really bug me. Like the drums on Schizophrenia. That track is MINDBLOWING on Year Punk Broke. But on Sister it sounds a little subdued.

But EVOL is genius from start to finish. It should win.

Both so awesome, but EVOL is INSANE. I listened to it over and over today.

I hope you aren't including Bubblegum. Master-Dik isn't any better though, damn bonus tracks!

Sister is damn perfect. I'm predicting it to win by a hair.

Yeah, I think both of those tracks are pretty shitty. But ''bubblegum" is a little better to me.

I see Master-Dik as a track which is supposed to be amusing, but loses its novelty value after one or two listens. On the other hand, I think Bubblegum is great. Probably my favourite of SY's covers.
I voted for EVOL. In terms of 1980s Sonic Youth, I think it's their definitive album - a mix between the early darker stuff, and the later more accessible stuff. Plus the album cover is one of their best.

Sister is the end all be all

This is truly one of those questions to which there is no wrong answer.

I picked EVOL since I listen to it more often.

i pick evol for sentimental reasons (my first youf album evarrr) though i'd say sister is better.

EVOL every step of the way! Sister is clearly great too, but there's no competition here for me. EVOL is in strong competition for my favourite SY album, wheras Sister wouldn't make the top 5...

It's wierd actually, because I've always wished I could really love Sister, but somehow, however hard I try, something about it just never really clicks with me.

Sister is perfect except for 'Hotwire My Heart', Evol is Perfect except for 'Bubblegum', but to me Sister just means a lot more, hence the vote for Sister.

EVOl sans the bonus track bubblegum is indeed, a perfect album.

I would have to say Sister is a tad better, but I voted EVOL becase I wanna see an EVOL vs. DDN final.
