Leeds Festival? nah...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reading..._line-ups#2007

There, in between NOFX and Trivium, someone reckons SY are gonna play.
Is this just bullshit? Has anyone heard anything about them playing Leeds/Reading this year?

I'd expect SY to have mentioned it on their Tour Dates spiel if they've agreed to it. Also it seems like it'd be just before they play DDN.

sonicl 03.14.2007 05:32 PM

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them at Reading/Leeds. The line ups are announced next week - if I'm right I expect to be hailed as a prophet from the top of every hill in the land. If I'm wrong... so what.

eatmychild 03.14.2007 05:34 PM

Deal

Shipper 03.14.2007 08:32 PM

I was thinking of going to Leeds anyway. This would more than seal the deal.

screamingskull 03.15.2007 08:58 AM

i went to Leeds in 05, was okay. i hate when sonic youth play festivals, too much money and you have to sit through too many other shit bands before they come on.

fishmonkey 03.15.2007 10:05 AM

well i reckon that all the artists that play reading/Leeds are kinda twined with the irish festival Electric Picnic and i have a strong suspicion that SY will play, i live in a town 2 miles from where Electric Picnic is on and there are strong rumours going round that SY will play, although they were saying the RATM will also but that seems not to be the case on the reading Wiki page there, so i guess we'll have to wait and see really.

maggot brain 03.15.2007 04:35 PM

i will explode with joy if sonic youth play reading.
it seems quite likely that they will, seeing as theyre doing a bunch of other europe festivals, plus theyre playing in london the next weekend...

GrungeMonkey 03.15.2007 04:39 PM

I might go for one day if Sonic Youth play... I wouldn't pay for a weekend though, way too pricey for me...

eatmychild 03.15.2007 04:42 PM

Yeh same, it'll be convenient if Sonic Youth play the same day as the Pumpkins, because I'd like to see them, but the Pumpkins are deffinitely not worth £70

GrungeMonkey 03.15.2007 05:00 PM

how much does a day ticket cost approximately?

screamingskull 03.15.2007 05:07 PM

smashing pumpkins are playing?????

eatmychild 03.15.2007 05:08 PM

i think about £70 when they've added on booking fee, postage fee, automated process fee, extra money fee etc. but it goes up each year.

screamingskull 03.16.2007 12:14 PM

i will probably go for one day if sonic youth or the smashing pumpkins are playing.

sonicl 03.19.2007 02:40 AM

Less than 12 hours to go before I get hailed as a prophet....

screamingskull 03.19.2007 01:29 PM

Today the line up announced at 6.45, tickets on sale 7.00 and probably sold out at 7.10
I definitely can't afford it now that I'm seeing SY 3 times! Oh well!

raging_nelly 03.19.2007 01:50 PM

Dargh, they aint playing! Ah well... seein them the next weekend either way!

screamingskull 03.19.2007 01:52 PM

how'd you know?

raging_nelly 03.19.2007 01:54 PM

Line up has been announced... No SY in sight... http://www.readingfestival.com/lineup/

maggot brain 03.19.2007 03:10 PM

theres still a chance...thats not the full lineup

raging_nelly 03.19.2007 03:13 PM

Nah, SY would be announced soner rather than later. Too big a band not to be.

Besides, if the are announced later it would be an day set and quite a short one at that...

Methinks if they played they would play DDN... But then again maybe not as they are palying London next week after... hmmm....
