Blank Dogs

Anyone into this bedroom lo-fi old skool new waver's music? Yes ? No? Bye.

batreleaser 10.17.2008 09:19 AM

dj rick does. ive been meaning to check em out.

al shabbray 10.17.2008 09:27 AM

hell yes, Ive checked their myspace site. and I like it

nicfit 10.17.2008 09:33 AM

Same here, I like most of the myspace tracks they put up. I wish I had enough time to know better all the nice bands in this world.

al shabbray 10.17.2008 09:40 AM

yes I agree.
but myspace is a blessing for music loving and new music searching heads like me

sarramkrop 10.18.2008 06:29 AM

As far as I know it's one bloke, not a band.

uhler 10.18.2008 04:30 PM

yeah it's just one guy, but he played his first show ever the other week (or so i heard it was his first show ever) with a backing band. i heard it sucked but it was his first show ever.

his stuff sounds a lot like chrome to me.

shentov 10.19.2008 07:03 AM

chrome?

hmm, now i have the urge to check the checkity outta this blank dodgy shit?!?

sarramkrop 10.19.2008 09:10 AM

I can hear the Chrome influence a bit. It's more in the way some of the songs sound, rather the songwriting itself.

sarramkrop 01.26.2009 03:21 AM

Blank Dogs have a long tour booked in Europe this year. If the current U.S. one is anything to go by, Naked On The Vague will play with them. I wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly became very popular.

Toilet & Bowels 01.26.2009 05:47 AM

i'm way more excited for a naked on the vague tour

Onani Nic 01.26.2009 05:57 AM

Blank Dogs and Naked On The Vague seems like a really good pairing. I reckon both bands sound a fair bit like "3rd from the Sun" era Chrome, especially NOTV's newer stuff they've been playing live.

_slavo_ 01.26.2009 08:27 AM

I don't know, I didn't like that Blank Dogs album very much. Gave it a couple of listens, but it didn't work for me that much.

Too bad I don't have as much time to really immerse in an album as I used to.

davenotdead 01.26.2009 12:51 PM

On Two Sides is a pretty good album. havent heard anything else yet

Everyneurotic 01.26.2009 01:06 PM

that and the setting fire to your house 7" are pure fucking class.

dionysusundone 01.27.2009 04:28 PM

I'm waiting for the double-disc that's coming soon..

atsonicpark 04.28.2010 12:25 PM

This guy is amazing, but he's another one of those dudes who releases just too goddamn many singles/ep's... he's had like 20 releases in the past two years! Granted, most of it is excellent, but I think it might be a bit hard for most people to know where to start, since there's just too damn much of it.

Chrome? I can actually sorta hear that in the production, I was thinking Pere Ubu.

Anyway, I dig him a lot..

dionysusundone 04.29.2010 03:31 AM

ASP, funny you say that because he's actually slowed down over the past two years.

atsonicpark 04.29.2010 04:19 AM

Yeah, I guess 2008 was his big year now that I look at it. 12 releases of original material. Luckily, it's good stuff!
