10 songs you DISLIKE by bands whose songs you generally LIKE.

Well, sort of a reverse version of Genteel Death's thread (because I liked the idea :D). So, 10 songs you dislike by bands you like, go.

Talking Heads - The Overload
The Beatles - Revolution 9
Metallica - Fuel
Hot Chip - I Feel Better
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (yeah, seriously, fuck that song)
The Who - Who Are You?
Arcade Fire - Keep the Car Running
Pearl Jam - Just Breathe (but most of the latest album sucks)
MGMT - Electric Feel
Animal Collective - Visiting Friends

Toilet & Bowels 08.02.2010 07:32 AM

how many tracks are there on Rather Ripped?

atsonicpark 08.02.2010 07:36 AM

captain beefheart - all of bluejeans moonbeams and unconditionally guranteed. Guess that's like 17 tracks.

GeneticKiss 08.02.2010 09:49 AM

Hmm

The Cure- Catch
Metallica- Fuel (pretty much all of Reload, actually)
Radiohead- A Punchup At a Wedding
Porcupine Tree- Collapse the Light Into Earth
TV on the Radio- Family Tree
Smashing Pumpkins- We Only Come Out At Night
Korn- Everything I've Known
Sonic Youth- Marilyn Moore
Pink Floyd- Seamus
Primal Scream- Sometimes I Feel So Lonely

@ Toilet & Bowels: 12, so you have to pick two you do like.

atsonicpark 08.02.2010 10:04 AM

Finally, someone who hates Punchup at a Wedding as much as I do. I mean, I don't like Radiohead very much anyway but that song is terrible!

pixies - stormy weather
joy division - candidate
vivian girls - you're my guy
the smiths - back to the old house
the fall - squid lord
fugazi - birthday pony
sunny day real estate - pheurton skeurto
jawbreaker - oyster
theory of ruin - blasted
drive like jehu - laua (gasp! I always skip this track; it's boring)

dionysusundone 08.02.2010 11:15 AM

"Speechless" - Lady Gaga. Only bad song on that record.

Rob Instigator 08.02.2010 11:43 AM

Sonic Youth - Contre le Sexisme (only SY song I HATE)
The Pixies - Velouria (the lyrics kill it for me. horrible rhymes)

Beastie Boys - fight for your right to party
Pavement - Spit on a Stranger

hard to think of more

atsonicpark 08.03.2010 01:44 PM

yeah it's really good..

deflinus 08.03.2010 02:11 PM

why am i seeing a lot of bad bands on this thread? is it cool to like them?

jetengine 08.03.2010 02:22 PM

The only number that immediately comes to mind is The Velvet Underground's 'Heroin'. I think that one's vastly overrated, and I usually skip over it when I listen to the first album or a compilation.

atsonicpark 08.03.2010 02:52 PM

heroin's my favorite song, next to sister ray.

Genteel Death 08.03.2010 03:01 PM

i like the beatles but i hate most, if not all, of the songs they tossed off to ringo.

SuperCreep 08.03.2010 08:44 PM

i love octopus' garden. :7(

and yeah, i definitely agree about changes. absolutely shit song on an otherwise amazing album.

GeneticKiss 08.04.2010 02:35 AM

Changes never bothered me...I've certainly heard better song by that band and others, but for me it's a nice Change (sorry) of pace. The "song" that follows it, however...

(although maybe they felt switching from subdued and weepy then going balls out on Supernaut would be too jarring without some filler in between)

Yr talking about "FX" right? I don't mind it, I actually think it's kinda cool. I mean yeah it's a piece of filler but it sounds neat.

Rob Instigator 08.04.2010 08:44 AM

analog filler!

Big Black were so kick ass. Still are so kick ass. I wanna hang out w/ the drummer.

atsonicpark 08.04.2010 10:20 PM

Well, buy a Roland 303 drum machine..

ann ashtray 08.04.2010 10:28 PM

haha

SuperCreep 08.04.2010 10:35 PM

i love dead billy! the synths are awesome.

Mortte Jousimo 08.05.2010 08:44 AM

1. Genesis: Invisible Touch
2. Rush: Roll the Bones
3. Scorpions: Still Loving You
4. Iron Maiden: Holy Smoke
5. John Lee Hooker feat. Santana: the Healer
6. Sex Pistols: No one is Innocent
7. the Who: Real Good Looking Boy
8. Pink Floyd: Take It Back
9. Metallica: Hero Of the Day
10. New Order: World In Motion

It wasn´t easy. Mostly the artist that I like, doesn´t make songs that I dislike (Of course their all songs are not great, there´s only very few that give me the creeps). With a deep thinking I found those.
