Wooden Wand

Where would I start if I was to pick up something from these people?

Wooden Wand solo or Wooden Wand and the Vanishing Voice?

If you're looking for WWVV I would go with Gipsy Freedom or Buck Dharma.

I don't know the difference between the Sky High Band, Vanishing Voice or just Wooden Wand. Thanks for the suggestion though.

yeah, those are good. also i'd recommend angel hair cdr and xiao lp, which has great liner notes from thurston.

the solo album harem of the sundrum & the witness figg is also pretty good.

george lucas crane has a solo project, called non-horse, and it's REALLY good...a lot of tape manipulation, and weird field recordings..I'm not trying to make a sales pitch, just wanted to mention that so you guys could check it out.. but I do have his newest tape in my distro:

Non-Horse "Rigor Lore" cassette $5
"Hope you like to read/research. Cause Gabriel Lucas Crane aka Non-Horse here unfurls an ancient 80 minute scroll of dense cryptic sound/texts, perfect for dream-diviners and out-of-work drone-archeologists. The Brooklyn tape-manipulator conspiracy theorist (and full-time Vanishing Voice chief) has crafted similarly mystic audio-calligraphies for other visionary label undergrounders like Release the Bats and Fuck It Tapes but “Rigor Lore” is his first real novel-length outpouring. The A side walks through wondrous home recorded catacombs of dead machine murk and hieroglyphic mystery, murmuring million-year-old Masonic secrets to pharaoh ghosts, while the B terrain documents a series of his live rituals, which are equally occult and symbol-ridden. Fire-red tapes with printed labels in cases with runic/riddle cover art by GLC himself, color-copied on heavy Byzantine-gold paper, plus a lengthy scripture insert." -NNF

I just heard Horus of the Horizon yesterday and I love it. It kind of reminds me of Bob Dylan in a weird way.
