Sesame Street: Tiny Desk Concert

Quote:

Sesame Street has won more major awards than any other group to play the Tiny Desk, including 11 Grammys and 192 Emmys.

I keep on wondering why big bird is yellow in the USA and blue in the Netherlands. Sesame Street has been running for years and years over here as well, with alternative story lines and different puppets. Now it looks like it will be closed down, due to budget cuts and such :(

and also:

Not as good as his live performances (check LMA! If you don't know where to start, listen to any of the 40 Watts Club sets) but still excellent stuff.

The liner notes are excellent on this disc, on the song 2nd Floor: "doug suggested that we 'crazy horse it' ". And so they did!

there's a new article on P4rk about King Crimson:
Where to Start With King Crimson, Prog’s Most Inventive Band

I'll give them a try whenever I feel like it, don't think I've ever listened to anything of them

Because if it were blue in the States, Empress Ann Coulter would go bitchcakes about how public television (the horror!) is sneaking a Democrat character into the minds of the children of AMERICA <- THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!

"Disconnection Notice" - Sonic Youth
"Time To Move On" - Tom Petty
"The Way The Whole Thing Ends" - Gillian Welch
"The End Of Everything" - Chris Isaak

Poll: which album/song should I play the last before I finally put the stereo inside a box and get the fuck out of the apartment from which I'm being evicted? The very first album I played when I moved in, ten years ago, was Daydream Nation. I thought about about closing with it now (toast to the circle of rock life and shit), but I've changed my mind and I believe I gotta go with the most insulting music possible, at FULL volume. I'm thinking Metal Machine Music or The Litanies Of Satan...

Yob - Clearing The Path To Ascend

perhaps not the most insulting, but yeah play loud! At 5AM: TIME TO WAKE UP!
and good luck with moving and such

^ Hey Antagon, why did you edit out a whole paragraph of your reply? It was pretty good! :) Anyway,

No, can't afford one. I'll crash at a relative's apartment. First time not living by myself in over 20 years... Jesus Christ Monkeyballs. :( But it's either that or suicide. Not that I haven't pondered it.

Because I didn't necessarily want to condone blasting other neighbours that might've had nothing to do with this situation with atonal noise cranked up to 11 (As I don't know anything about your living situation). I'm all for the notion of sticking it to the man though. That's why I initially wrote it.

Damn. Is it someone you're on good terms with? And is there someone you can talk to closeby? That sounds like an incredibly rough patch you're having right now. Wish you all the best with how things progress.

And for transparency's sake, the part I edited out: I mean, playing Daydream Nation would certainly close the circle so to speak. This would lend itself to some sort of poetic finality. If you're going for the "fuck it all" approach though, Metal Machine Music is definitely a good choice. Or maybe something, something...Merzbow? Nah, MMM is the quintessential middle finger of an album.

You don't know the half of it - today I found out that even though I'm ready to leave I'm actually being SUED! Seriously! Ever been sued? It's a new experience for me... I don't recommend it.

Yes. Apparently I wasn't packing my stuff fast enough, even though I've being going through the death of a close relative WHOSE FUNERAL THE APARTMENT'S OWNERS THEMSELVES ATTENDED (not because of me; it's a long story). And they didn't "just" sue me; they threatened me with instant violent eviction-by-cops, which is illegal, but they're Pinochet fans, so that's their putrid mindset. Kinda gives ya an idea of the type of motherfuckers I've been dealing with, huh.

Goddmanit. That's some vile shit right there. The sooner you're away from those fuckers, the better. Throw in "Youth Against Fascism" or something of that ilk for good measure.

For the past couple of years my Sunday night routine has been tuning into WFMU and The Avant Ghetto for my psychedelic goodness. I tuned in this past Sunday night and a different show was on: Nowhere Places. They played the (Sewerslvt Remix) of, In The Distant Travels, and I was curious about other Sadness remixes. I was listening to the original while searching for remixes......had not seen your post......but after seeing it, I listened to that album and I’m glad I did!!!
