Tried to find torrent but no good

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 08.25.2015 01:35 PM

Everyone sleeping on Ravens. Sounds good to us.. we like kick in the back window not like those Dick Rider teams that everyone rolls out the red carpet for

demonrail666 09.22.2015 02:12 PM

Any word or rumours yet as to which franchise is most likely gonna relocate to LA?

Rob Instigator 09.22.2015 04:19 PM

It looks like it will be the Rams...

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 09.22.2015 04:48 PM

Ugh.. don't remind me of this season. Al Bundy said about the Bears, "they are playing the rams and if you lose to the Rams they throw you out of the League!" Now that is the case with losing big to the Raiders so likely at the least Ravens getting tossed out the playoffs.

As to the LA smoke and mirrors, if you ask me ain't no teams coming to LA, its all real estate speculation and old fashioned black mail.

demonrail666 09.22.2015 06:59 PM

oh, i have an old la raiders t shirt i was hoping might be relevant again

So do like a million gullible Angelinos here but if you ask me its all bullshit. Its not that its impossible or even a bad idea so much as the current plans just don't seem realistic. Also i understand St Louis committed to funding a new stadium so Rams are staying. Indeed the Rams owner owns the land that used to be Hollywood Park and so more likely he used this bogus LA stadium plan to black mail St Louis into paying for a new stadium while simultaneously boosting the value of his LA land based on the speculation of building LA stadium.

As to Raiders its 50-50 but honestly i think economically rebuilding in Oakland would be better for them financially. Its like when LA turned Skid row into the Staples Center now including LA Live center and many expensive lofts. The Oakland Colloseum is in similar economically depressed neighborhood would be cheaper to build a whole entertainment complex there like LA did. The NBA Warriors are leaving so that complicates it so really the Raiders are waiting to see if MLB As commit to building their stadium in that area as part of multi sport plan. If As stay and build Raiders will stay.. if As leave LA is in play

demonrail666 09.23.2015 03:00 AM

Thanks for that. It does seem weird that LA hasn't had an NFL team for so long, especially given you can sustain two NBA and MLB franchises (assuming you can). Were audiences down when you had the Rams and the Raiders or was it just politics?

Not really a factor but given the NFL is committed to exporting certain games to England, an LA Raiders v Miami Dolphins match played at Wembley would be absolutely huge here, as they were the two big cult teams in England when we were getting terrestrial coverage in the mid 80s.

Don't forget we have probably the only world class MLS team in the LA Galaxy, and two elite NCAAF teams (USC, UCLA), and a handful of sometimes elite NCAAB teams...

However NFL NOT being in LA is the NFL's CASH COW.. LA is the largest TV market for NFL, by LA not having its own team, LA TV Market supports a large swath of ALL the teams. Indeed half of all Angelinos (we're talking about at least 5,000,000 people) weren't born in LA so they moved here and likely brought their previous team with them so they watch the games, buy merch, etc etc..

The NFL likes LA not having a team, it allows the NFL to make way more money of LA than if LA did have its own team. Remember LA is such a lucrative football market that we supported TWO NFL teams for decades..

Something else I've heard is that it suits the owners of other franchises, who can always threaten to relocate there if the demands they put on the cities they are located in aren't met.

You may have heard that from me. Even Jerry Jones blackmailed Dallas to invest in Cowboys recent stadiums threatening to move to LA! 49ers did it too

demonrail666 09.23.2015 07:28 PM

Possibly, but also http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...e-an-nfl-team/

The thought that the Cowboys would even consider relocating is precisely why I really don't like the idea of franchises in sport.

Why Dean Pees still has a job is convincing me that the once great Ozzie Newsome is currently struggling with a drug problem.

Sorry to my Tejanos friends here on SYG but today was possibly the most boring NFL day of yhe year

Rob Instigator 01.11.2016 09:21 AM

Reporters said that Brandon Weeden was asked by coaches to start the 2nd half but that Hoyer went and whined to the head coach (loser-ass O'Brian) and that O'Brian said to go ahead and play. HORRIBLE.

Where are you hearing this? I listened to a couple hours of Houston sports talk this morning, but I didn't hear that??

My biggest disappointment with O'Brian was his decision to try and have JJ punch one in at the goal line. With reports after the game that JJ has been battling a groin injury for the past 7 weeks, that requires surgery tomorrow......why even put JJ in that position???

To the best of my memory, this weekend was the first time the networks televised AFC games on Saturday and NFC games on Sunday. I remember them being split int he past......wagering on all four home teams losing would have been a nice parlay!

Every team in the AFC South should be embarrassed!

Bytor Peltor 01.16.2016 04:27 PM

Looking for New England to win by 7-12 points and for Green Bay to possibly upset tonight.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 08.13.2016 11:57 PM

it was surreal to see an NFL game being played in LOS ANGELES.. it waa one of biggest preseason games i have ever seen
