You're right. Judging by the new songs the new album will be wonderful. So there's High & Right, No Comprende, Landslide and Spanish Translation what they've recently played live already. According to the interview they gave two weeks ago (see sirki's link above), the album is in the mixing stages now.And they said it would be more gloomy and dark compared to the recent records (this was not their wording, can't remember how they put it exactly)
And Alan seems pleased about it too

btw, does anyone know who's producing it this time? They should just do it theirselves, or have their regular soundguy done it. I love what he did with Dark Dark Dark.

Well, there was The Visible End and Retribution Gospel Choir's The Revolution... I don't think the label would veto the release of a Low EP if the band wanted to put one out! :)

Greetings all –
My name is Alison. I’ve been a Low fan since I first heard I Could Live In Hope. I’m a researcher and for the past few years I’ve been nursing a secret hope that I’d find a way to do a book project on Low – or, rather, on loving Low, on being in love with music, on enthusiasm and what it can do when you have a relationship to a work of art. So I’ve decided to commit to it, and to do this thing. And to do this thing I’m going to ask for your help.
For the last few years I’ve been collecting sort of oral histories of being in love with a band and its music from everyone I run across that loves Low. Now I’m hoping that some of you might be up for a chat. We could meet in person if our paths cross, or talk over skype or google hangouts, or write e-mails back and forth if that makes the most sense for you. But if you love this music I would like to talk to you. You can be anonymous or go by your name, and anything else you’re concerned about we can talk through. But I would love to talk to you.
I’m also looking for information. If you have archived e-mails from the old mailing lists, the files from your old fan website that isn’t up anymore, old anything, and you’d feel comfortable sharing, it would mean a lot to me. I have, I think, done as much as I can with the wayback machine, and there’s so much I remember that is lost. Maybe you have some of it.
About me: I’ll put a link to my website below, and there’s some information there. Put very shortly, I used to work as an artist, and then I went to grad school and became a sociologist. I’ve just finished a PhD and started a postdoc, for which I’ll be moving (back) to Sweden later this year. If you want to know about the kind of writing I do, here’s a link to something-
http://narrative.ly/stories/the-nigh...-indie-artist/
In general I’ve been interested for the past years in art and work and value, generally. And my now not-so-secret project about Low.
I hope you’ll get in touch. I’d love to talk.
Hope all is well-
Alison

2 shows in Anchorage, Alaska in January (BRRRRR) ...not sure if there is any interest in audio (which should be covered, I live in Fairbanks), and/or if they allow video at all (which I'd have to travel to Anchorage to accomplish). I'm happy to share with the band any/all captures, if anyone can help (as I just joined here to ask this question), if you can email me at hagaralaska at gmail (you know the rest, typed this way to prevent spam linkage), it'd be greatly appreciated (though I'll bookmark this page as well)

thanks much,

-Steve

I'm interested! :) Hopefully you'll be able to record the shows. And audiovisual stuff would be mighty bitchen. As for help, you can't even IMAGINE how far from there I am, so... sorry. :D

hipster_bebop_junkie 11.16.2015 12:44 AM

I'll be seeing Low in March of next year, and it's my intention to tape. They've always seemed okay with independent recordings of their shows circulating. I think archive.org has approval from Alan Sparhawk to host documentation of their live performances. The only thing that would stand on your way to record would be if it goes against the venue's policy, I would think.

_tunic_ 11.16.2015 03:38 AM

Like hipster said: Low is taper friendly, I've recorded them like 20 times now and never had a problem. And I would love to hear your recordings ;-)
Here's my collection of Low recordings on Archive.org

Especially looking forward to hearing these Anchorage sets because they play 2 times t the same the same venue (I assume), so they will hopefully have some difference in the setlists
