Jim joined Sy in Tokyo

http://www.star-ecentral.com/news/st...2341&sec=music

...Despite Saturday being a wet day of start-stop rain up at the Naeba festival grounds, the fest had some excellent live excursions with a blinding set by Sonic Youth (reunited with Tokyo-based Jim O’Rourke) shading some equally noteworthy slots from Fields, Jenny Lewis and 1960s J-pop legends The Kingtones.

But there was only one band with red-hot value on the cards and it wasn’t hard to spot its enthusiastic members at the fest. RHCP was a prominent name on the Fuji Rock banners, but just like festival regulars, these sun-soaked Californians haven’t forgotten how to be rabid rock fans, too. Along with frontman Anthony Kiedis, you could spot guitarist John Frusciante and bassist Flea at the side of the smaller stages; going crazy during the Yeah Yeah Yeahs set while the entire band stood in awe at the Thurston Moore-led noise attack during Sonic Youth’s blitz...

Will we ever find out which songs were played?... did Jim join them for the final blowout or was he playing on each song throughout the set?... if so what was Mark doing?...
Questions, questions, questions.

Yeh i was there at the Green Stage. This show was a killer, and i was so moved to see Mark Ibold play for SY since i m also extremely fond of Pavement. i was in the front rows seeing SY + Mark + Jim. This made me totally crazy.

Like sksc said, Jim joined in the middle of the show for 2 or 3 songs. Mark played bass most of the time, and changed to play guitar while Thurston did the bass part in Rats(?) sorry i kinda forgot.
The last song Shaking Hell was played by the typically quartet SY.

One of my top shows in Fuji Rock 06.
