So, I just got the album of the year

....for the first 4 months anyway.

FARMERS MARKET "SURFIN U.S.S.R"
The music of Farmers Market is a mixture of Bulgarian folk music, jazz standards, popular music and humor. Farmers Market has become one of Norway's most popular live bands, playing at all kinds of venues and festivals: jazz, folk and rock. Farmers Market has been releasing music in Norway sporadically over the past decade but their releases have been generally hard to find on U.S. shores. Those who have been lucky enough to hear the outfit have been instantly won over by the unbelievable musicianship and oddball mixture of styles.

On Ipecac records.

Have listened to this 3 times in a row. Just unbelievable. I really HIGHLY doubt anything will top this this year.

I might upload it later if anyone's interested.

Or better yet:

i know someone who will also name it the album of the year, fucking loves anything patton related, everything on ipecac and bands with eastern european sounds.

gualbert 04.19.2008 02:24 PM

It's not very appealing.
People from Norway playing bulgarian music!
Hem!

Rob Instigator 04.19.2008 03:42 PM

man it sounds fucking outta sight and shit. I am gonna order it and throw parties just so I can play this loudly over and over again

gmku 04.19.2008 06:38 PM

meh

atsonicpark 04.19.2008 10:28 PM

I hate Patton. Good record label though.

Anyway, it "officially" comes out Tuesday, I have a copy now. I also have the new Melvins..

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing. Yet another thing to add on to the long list of albums I have to buy.

PAULYBEE2656 04.20.2008 08:06 AM

thanks adam...... again!!!

atsonicpark 04.20.2008 10:35 AM

Yeah, but Porky, this is probably better than anything released last year or the year before that either. The only thing that has a chance is probably Secret Chiefs 3's new one... unless some random, new band comes along and blows me away. Who knows? It's already been an excellent year for music.

Pauly, I downloaded those things you sent me but haven't gotten a chance to listen yet. Still stoked on the JACKBEAST though. That shit's great, I've already sent it to out to a few people. Thanks!!

batreleaser 04.20.2008 11:38 AM

really, i gotta check this out

atsonicpark 04.20.2008 11:42 AM

It's like a mix of Naked City, Secret Chiefs 3, and Dengue Fever.. but more complex.

I just got the new YMCK and Polysics albums too.. damn, this year has been great for music.. there's a new Zazen Boys coming too!

PAULYBEE2656 04.20.2008 12:33 PM

new polysics any good???

atsonicpark 04.20.2008 12:54 PM

Haven't had a chance to listen :) I'm sure it's okay. I'm burnt out on them personally.

PAULYBEE2656 04.20.2008 03:15 PM

yeah, they are like cherry cola. fucking great when you havent had it in a while and too much of it makes your teeth stick together.

king_buzzo 04.20.2008 03:39 PM

I motherfucking hate sendspace. The downloads are like, never available because of too many people on.

atsonicpark 04.20.2008 03:43 PM

Oh, just refresh it after a minute. That always works for me man.
