How many copies of Rather Ripped have been sold until now?

I think 500 millions, but I could be wrong.

much about their sales numbers hasn't been published, but if i recall correctly, it sold somewhere in the range of 17,000 in it's first week, around half that in it's second week

they're not selling in number of milions.
but I remember that Rather Ripped was at the 1st place seeling record in Canada for some time.

"Canadian college charts" sounds more like a chart of playlists for college radio stations... who tend to play "alternative" (ugh!) rock and stuff. I seriously doubt Sonic Youth would ever top the actual sales charts anywhere.

Sales charts don't mean much in this day anyway.... I think Coldplay sold the most albums of anyone on the planet in 2008 and even that was only 7 million worldwide.

The Corporate Ghost DVD was awarded gold status for music DVD sales in Canada... that just means more than 5,000 copies sold!

I bet Canadians have really great self-esteem with all that positive reinforcement and encouragement..

I think you could pretty much translate those sales figures to USA/Europe/Japan/Australia/etc.



But OK then.... Canadians are the best SY fans in (their part of) the world!!!

DOUBLE PLATINUM 200,000 units
The following are the sales designations for the US:
GOLD 500,000 units
PLATINUM 1,000,000 units

Rather Ripped sales to date, probably pretty high.

Rather Ripped probably solde between 100 thou and 130 thou copies.

sonic youth still have not ahd ANY album go gold in the USA, and that is 500,000 sales.

the closest ones were EJST&NS and Dirty.
