Name change for Sonic Youth
 

I think Sonic Youth should change their name. They can hardly be "youth" anymore if they're all in their 40s/50.

So, does anyone have any suggestions?

Sugestions for new names that is.

I reckon 'Thurston and Wife' would be a good one.

or maybe 'Thurston, Wife and Friends'

Thurston, Wife and Friends sounds like a lame-ass sitcom, like Three's Company.

Washing Machine would have been a good name.

Exactly, or like a company name or like 'Peter, Paul and Mary'. It was meant to be a joke.

I guess when they get really old....

Thurston Moore and The Noisettes

Thurston has said before that their name SONIC YOUTH, is not THE sonic youth, and it in no way refers to a specifically aged person. i is a state of being, a state of SONIC YOUTH> get it? therefore they should retain their name forever.

Thurston, Wife and Friends is too long.

A name like Savage Animal doesn't come along everyday. It jus rolls off of the tongue. SAVAGE ANIMAL.

New names for SY. How about: The Ass Blasters. Or The Lurkers.

Almost as good of a name as SKID ROW
