This is an excellent movie. Very few movies are as simple and effective as this beauty anymore. Rare breed indeed. Was it daring? Groundbreaking? Astonishing? No. If was just fucking EXQUISITELY done.

Great acting all around. GREAT writing. Excellent score, cinematography, pacing.

This movie is so much better than The Shape of Water, it’s impossible to quantify. So was Dunkirk and Blade Runner 2049 of course, but DAMN.

I’ve never seen this Noah Baumbach film.

I rewatched Get Smart (2008) the one with Steve Carrell. That's a solid good comedy and I wonder why they never made a sequel to it. According to IMDB a sequel is being written. Its got a good ensemble cast, Alan Arkin is a stand out.

I forgot that I watched this Gilbert Gottfried documentary on Friday. The most interesting thing about it is seeing Gilbert out of character, talking in his 'real voice'. That's surreal enough to be worth the price of admission alone.

I never knew if the reveal of his 'real' voice on The Howard Stern show was a bit or not, but it's legit.

I didn't know this existed. I really want to watch this. I was chatting online the other day and I brought up The Aristocrats documentary which I haven't seen in years, but Gilbert Gottfried has a great moment in it where he took part in a Friar's Club Roast, and it was one of if not the first post 9/11, where everyone was still touchy about what to find funny, and Goffried is at the podium and pulls out The Aristocrats joke and brings down the house.

Yeah it feels right outta Masculin Feminin, but it's also very very funny at times. Totally has that slacker vibe. I was surprised by just how much I liked it. I've heard of The Squid and the Whale, but I'm unfamiliar with Baumbach otherwise.

frances ha is much more of a collaboration and you can recognize gerwig’s fingerprints all over. i’d expect it’s more her material than his and he provided maybe the structure of the screenplay or something.

Almost didn’t finish it because first 15 minutes was sooooooblleeeeeeehhhh... but I did, and it was actually a lot of fun.

Basically Ocean’s 11 in space. Pretty cool. A heist movie more than anything else.

Fun. I smiled a lot. Took damn near TWO DAYS to find enough free time to fit it in... it’s unnecessarily long and ends rather abruptly with a total WTF.

But ... fun!

Continuing to work my way through them. Halloween 5 and just started Halloween 6
