The wrongness of Zappa

Bash him here and now.

Tokolosh 07.05.2006 03:16 PM

He was only in it for the money?

Glice 07.05.2006 03:19 PM

If you don't want to hurt this picture then you are officially not as evolved as Apes, who in tests, were found to want to hurt this picture 9 times out of 10. Humans without what scientists have called the 'hurting Zappa reaction' gene (HZRG) are generally found to be wrong. And that's a scientific FACT.

You know there's a load of fucking Marxist pricks who're trying to make Zappology a subject? I know some of the Wire's hacks are involved, I think Ben 'prick' Watson may be one of them. Did I get the word prick into this statement? Good. Pricks, the lot of 'em.

Glice 07.05.2006 03:35 PM

There is one very, very large merit against Zappa's name though, in all fairness. He was pretty much responsible for getting the Shaggs re-released.

But yeah, otherwise wrong didldly wrong wrong wrong.

Suzy Creamcheese, what's got into ya?

So there you have it.

acousticrock87 07.05.2006 04:01 PM

The site of his old recording studio is like two miles away from my house, in Cucamonga. That's about the best thing that city has to offer in terms of landmarks...

cryptowonderdruginvogue 07.05.2006 04:13 PM

this thread makes me sad :/

krastian 07.05.2006 04:20 PM

Fuck the cheesy humor that you guys are thinking of (I'm guessing you mean his later stuff without the Mothers).....and give me the insane music. It's not all "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow" guys. I could list a bunch of albums that I think might change yr views on him as being a crappy musician or just a joke or whatever, but y'all won't care soooooo......

Honestly, I have heard the 'good' stuff. It still sounds shit to me. I reckon I must've borrowed about 15 albums off of people over the years. I didn't get a note of it, apart from one instrumental on Joe's Garage (I think).

Savage Clone 07.05.2006 04:34 PM

Aside from some of his modern classical works, Hot Rats and Freak Out, I have serious problems with this stuff. I went through a phase, burned out and never went back. Like Glice, I have a problem with "funny music." The man was damn talented, but on taste issues I say no about 85% of the time.

acousticrock87 07.05.2006 04:37 PM

I could care less about Frank Zappa, but Terry is a maniac. Watching videos of him make me utterly disappointed in my life.

Savage Clone 07.05.2006 04:44 PM

Yeah, but he really didn't get to shine until Missing Persons.

krastian 07.05.2006 04:47 PM

Terry was good.....I like Aynsley Dunbar the best.

Yep, that's better.
