ThePits 07.16.2007 11:20 AM

I wish I were a glow worm
I mean how can you be miserable when the sun shines out of your arse?

sonicl 07.16.2007 11:21 AM

Very miserable if you're hungry. Give me some of your chocolate, Mr GloWorm. And none of that cheap shite.

nicfit 07.16.2007 11:30 AM

http://www.andyw.com/sunra/elsaturn.htm it's much better than irrelevant, but I didn't want to open a thread just for that and searching sun ra is impossible on this board. uqqqhsahhasdljojfòlsdjihapi!!!

A 180ft chalk figure of Homer Simpson painted beside the famous Cerne Abbas giant in Dorset hasn't gone down well with the Pagan community.

Springfield's own favourite rude man, dressed only in his briefs and brandishing his beloved doughnut, was painted on the hill to promote the new Simpsons movie. But Pagans are praying for rain to wash away the display next to the Cerne giant, which is considered to be an ancient symbol for fertility.

Ann Bryn-Evans, joint Wessex district manager for The Pagan Federation, said: "We were hoping for some dry weather but I think I have changed my mind. We'll be doing some rain magic to bring the rain and wash it away." She added: "I'm amazed they got permission to do something so ridiculous. It's an area of scientific interest."

The Cerne Abbas giant is the largest figure on a hill in Britain, but it is unknown when it first appeared.

I don't feel like making yet another MBV thread, especially when I don't quite know the credibility of the source of this information, but:

From 411Mania
Hello!!,

Quint here, formerly known as Antistar. I used to post here about a year ago before the upgrade nightmare but enough of that...I went over to see Mogwai at Somerset House, London but while waiting for them to come on who should walk past only the Godlike genius that is Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine, creator of 'Loveless', one the greatest albums of all time and my all-time rock hero. Anyway, to cut a long story short and thanks to about 4 pints-worth of Dutch courage, I approached him as I would have regretted it for the rest of my life if I hadn't. He is one of the nicest, unassuming guys you could ever meet. So much for the 'never meet your heroes' rule. I asked him any chance of a new album or tour and here's the scoop...

2 new albums: One an anthology of unreleased material from the nineties, and a completely new album.

A tour in 2008!

He also mentioned that they were asked to play a gig 'at some museum in Dublin later in the year' as he put it, I presume this is POD marquee thing at IMMA in late Oct/November but he didn't seem that sure whether they were going to play as they are not ready yet to play live until the proper tour next year....

There have been rumours before about MBV reunion but this was from the main man himself and he seemed pretty definite about their upcoming plans....here's hoping!

Apparently Shields has been at plenty of gigs around London of late and when approached has been telling people very similar things.

Nice Mr Cameron is absolutely slaughtering Gordon Brown today on PMQ's.

Pookie 07.18.2007 06:19 AM

The good thing about the latest opinion polls is that the public can see through the 'nice Mr. Cameron'.

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:21 AM

They're just being fooled by stinky labour lies.

Pookie 07.18.2007 06:28 AM

He's another in a looooong line of Tory leaders who you just feel the need to slap. Not hard, I'm not a violent person. Just a slap so it stings a little.

Two reasons:
1. Being a Tory
2. Being smarmy

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:30 AM

Nah.

1. Nothing wrong with being a conservative.
2. It's certainly better than being labourist.

Pookie 07.18.2007 06:32 AM

That's as close to an argument I'm going to have with you I think.

Although I'm just going to add this, before scarpering to hide behind the nearest girl I can find:

:p

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:38 AM

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I'm going to tell on you.

HEY MISS, POOKIE STUCK HIS TONGUE OUT AT ME. He's so mean.

:(

sonicl 07.18.2007 06:41 AM

Oh dear. I'd forgotten what sort of thing always happens when we allow Hip Priest and Pookie to play together.

Hip: What have I told you before about coming to the board during daylight hours?
Pookie: Don't you have some books to stack or something?

Hip Priest 07.18.2007 06:43 AM

I only came here to relax a bit it's not fair all I did was call someone nice and then Pookie stuck his tongue at me why can't I just call someone nice I like Dave that's all I think he's good he's sent me some emails that are dead dead nice and Pookie stuck his tongue out at me I've had a hard week I just want to relax but Pookie stuck his tongue at me wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
