Fugazi ~ Repeater

Fuck shit I don't know about. It's probably no good anyway. That's my new attitude.

by the way,
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to stu666 again. |

I don't understand the whole "reputation" thing at all, myself. I looked at my profile the other day, and I had a number (point value) based on recommendations. What's the goal number of reputation points? a million? Because I have several, several thousand after only four or so recommendation comments. I don't even know how to give recommendation And I've only received four. What's the deal with this? |

It's explained a bit here.... http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/sho...96&postcount=4 and http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/sho...8&postcount=26 so now that you know you have no excuse not to rep me! :D |

Nice! I'd love to across this on LP. EDIT: Well, I see it's only on CD, but I'd be okay with that. I love that band.

Do you actually have the original cover? The one with the photo of the girl like this in the upper left corner?

I don't understand why this album is considered not as good as Nowhere. Sure, it might bring up more elements of pop, but it is still a shoegazing record. The tracks are all gems, especially, "Leave Them All Behind," "Chrome Waves," "Mouse Trap," "Time Machine," and, of course, the pinnacle shoegaze track, "OX4." I was a fan with the release of Nowhere, I waited anxiously for this one, expecting more of the same, but, in a way, I'm glad it's not strictly more of the same. I love both Nowhere and this one equally, but this album clearly shows us that Ride was at the top of their game in 1992. |
Playing the above again. Why not? So... do you listen to anything like that, I mean, again soon after playing it once, or in any kind of repeated way?
|
I see. I keep thinking I'll stumble on a copy in the store. Probably would be a zillion bucks though.
|
I wrote a paper about album cover art for one of my college photography classes. My prof loved it, though she said, rightly so, that she detected an overly Susan Sontag-ian influence. lol.
|
Yeah. All the albums I think are great also have great cover art. They're the ones where everything gelled, where the music, the art, and the packaging all speak to each other, and where they all say something about the larger context, social, cultural.
|
|
Nice. What is it?
Again, people, let's remember to identify the album we show if it's not clear from the cover art what it is. Don't try to be cool by thinking you're cool by not doing this. It's not cool. Quote:

I have one and I'm willing to give you 50% discount! so only half a zillion bucks for you... or 1000 euros, whichever is more these days. |
Okay, well, just let me know when you have a realistic price. I'd be glad to take it off your hands for the right price.

ok, you can have it for free! |
Deal. Should I pm you with my address? Want anything for shipping?
|
yes, shipping & handling would be about 1000 euros.
|
Okay. Go ahead and ship. I'll send you a money order when I've received the LP.
So, 1,000 euros is about, what, 10 USD or so these days? |
It's actually way less than 10 USD, but I can't accept USD, only euros, sorry.
So if you paypal me 1000 euros (less than 10 USD!!!) I'll send it right away! |
Yeah, right.

Someone (E?) please remind me when I'm less drunk to make a list of the best album covers ever. I would enjoy that very much. |
